What that means in practice
An affiliate link carries a tracking code. When someone subscribes to a product after following one of my links, the company pays me a percentage of what they charged. Your price is identical to what it would be if you'd gone there directly.

How I choose what to recommend
I only recommend tools I believe genuinely help students. A commission never buys a recommendation, and where a free alternative would serve you just as well, I'd rather say so.
Why this page exists
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires clear disclosure of material connections between a recommendation and the company being recommended. This page, plus the disclosures beside each link, is how I meet that standard.
